Oxford trio led by Gaz Coombes, formed in 1993. Their debut I Should Coco ('Alright', 'Caught by the Fuzz') delivered giddy, punk-charged Britpop; later records grew into glam- and psych-tinged rock, marking them one of the era's great singles bands.
