Anglo-French band led by Tim Gane and Laetitia Sadier, formed in London in 1990. They welded the motorik pulse of krautrock and the Velvet Underground's drone to lounge, bossa nova and 1960s pop, topped with Sadier's cool French/English vocals — the blueprint many call 'space-age bachelor-pad' indie.
