Bristol trio of Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow and Adrian Utley, formed in 1991. Their debut Dummy (1994) — 'Glory Box', 'Roads' — fused hip-hop beats, spy-film strings and Gibbons's aching torch-song voice into a haunted sound that defined the decade, followed by the starker Third (2008).
