Ramblin' Jack Elliott

American folk singer (b. 1931), a Brooklyn doctor's son turned rambling cowboy troubadour. Woody Guthrie's closest protege — Guthrie said he 'sounds more like me than I do' — he carried Guthrie's songs to Britain and to the young Bob Dylan, who called him the king of the folk singers.
