American composer and synthesizer pioneer (1950–1982). Extending Giorgio Moroder's electronic disco, his pulsing synth arrangements defined Sylvester's biggest hits and, on his own 'Menergy' and 'Megatron Man', helped invent the hi-NRG sound.
