Madlib
USA, 1993–now
American producer (b. 1973, Otis Jackson Jr.) from Oxnard, California. Who influenced Madlib?
- Miles Davis — Madlib names Miles Davis among the musicians he grew up making beats to, and the electric-period records are the ones his jazz digging keeps returning to.
- Sun Ra — Sun Ra is among the names Madlib gives for his own listening, and the model for a musician who works under invented identities.
