Brazilian singer-songwriter (b. 1939, Jorge Duilio Menezes). He played samba with a strummed, rhythm-first guitar and folded in soul and funk to make samba rock; 'Mas Que Nada' and 'Taj Mahal' travelled far beyond Brazil.
