Italian composer (1928–2020), one of the greatest and most prolific film composers of all time. His scores for Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West) and hundreds of other films fused orchestra, voice, whistling and unconventional sounds into instantly iconic music.
