Eduard Artemiev

Russia, 1960–2022

Soviet and Russian composer (1937–2022), a pioneer of electronic music in film scoring. An early exponent of the ANS photoelectronic synthesizer at Moscow's Experimental Studio of Electronic Music, he is best known for his scores for Andrei Tarkovsky — Solaris, Mirror, Stalker — and for Mikhalkov's Siberiade and Burnt by the Sun.
