Ed Cobb

USA, 1956–1999

American songwriter and producer who sang with the clean-cut Four Preps and then wrote some of the most durable songs of the other side of the 1960s: 'Dirty Water' for the Standells, 'Every Little Bit Hurts' for Brenda Holloway, and 'Tainted Love' for Gloria Jones — a 1964 flop that became a Northern Soul record, then a worldwide hit for Soft Cell seventeen years later.
