Tallahassee, Florida band led by Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti, formed in 1993. Human Clay ('Higher', 'With Arms Wide Open') made them post-grunge superstars, Stapp's Vedder-like baritone atop anthemic, spiritually tinged hard rock.
